    I just purchased a new pair of Polk Audio speakers (monitor 40) for the purpose of listening to records. The speakers arrived before this product arrived and so I borrowed some old speaker wire and set up my new speakers. They sounded alright, the bass was a bit flat and the highs were not very sharp… I didn’t know what to expect from these speakers but I knew that the wire I was using was serviceable at best. My Monster Cable THX 600 arrived the next day along with 24k gold plated monster angled connectors. I bi-wired my speakers and placed Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here on the platter of my turntable (nothing fancy–Numark TT 1700 with a Grado Prestige black MMC) and WOW. The THX 600 was about 4 times as thick as the speaker wire I was using. The bass was much fuller and the highs were crisp. I don’t think that I could have purchased better wire. If you are looking for speaker wire for your home theater or stereo setup I don’t think you could go wrong with this unless you are an elitist with more money than you know what to do with… My setup will change and improve as the years go on but I think this wire will be a part of my set up for a long time.

    Redid my tower speakers and center channel. I really noticed the improvement in the towers. Music was more defined. I liked it so much, I ordered more! I also used Monster banana clips (see review) and those made connections easier and even made everything sound better. As in cleaner and tighter in response.

    I was looking for some speaker cable to replace some crappy stand-by stuff in my bedroom setup and this stuff worked out great.

    The specs from Monster on the cable are pretty good and it performs nicely in my setup. The winding is tight and consistent with the outer sleeve keeping it all together. If you take your time you should have no problems cutting back the sleeve and stripping the ends of the wires. Once I got everything cabled I can honestly say it “sounds” great. There was no added noise or odd coloring of the audio. I think the solid core is a benefit as well because the bass response from my speakers is noticeably better.

    So I can definitely recommend this if you are looking for some quality cable that doesn’t cost an entire paycheck or two. :)
