High End For The Low Low,
I listened to Infinity Kappa, R. Fosgate, JL Audio, Diamond Audio….. and nothing had the clean, crisp highs AND powerful mid-bass like these speakers. The only possible draw back is that they are listed @ 60W RMS (they are probably under rated and can handle more power). I cannot believe how great and balanced they sound. I will never buy another brand of component speakers. Worth every penny. I also suggest buying them from Woofers Etc. Great customer service and they sold them for almost 1/3 the price that I could get them @ a retail store.

|Focal Access 165A1 6.5,
I bought these speakers to go along with some MB quart German made components and after a few weeks of trying to hear the difference I’m happy to say that I can’t. The MB quarts cost me @$600 back in the day for the Q series which is the top of the line and sound crystal clear. These focals sound just as well for @$300 you can’t go wrong. Now I can’t give this a 100% fair comparison because my Focals are installed with the tweeter right next to the mid range and that is in the back of my car. The quarts are installed with the tweeter on the door in the front. So to wrap things up if you decide to upgrade your stock speakers to the Focal you will be satisfied. If you need a good pair of components to go along with components you already have then these will be of high enough quality to not downgrade your sound system. I’m pushing all 4 components with a Rockford Fosgate 650z amp. Also if you are going to spend the money to upgrade your stock speakers to these components I highly recommend purchasing a subwoofer to go along with them because that will give you the best all around sound. These speakers are great for high and mid range but will not give you the complete bass to make your car knock.

|They’re good, but not great!,
I purchased and had these installed professionally along with the Focal 130ca1′s and a fosgate pbr300.4 amp to push them. The speakers are good, but I wouldn’t say great. When I first heard them, I actually told the installer I was a bit “underwhelmed.” They have a decent range and are definitely clearer than my stock speakers in my 08 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab but when you get to really cranking them up they distort. You’ll have to cut the mids way down to clear out the distortion. All in all, they are a pretty good speaker for the money.
Pros:
Fit in factory holes with baffles (free from crutchfield w/purchase)
Tweets are clear and definitive without being too high pitched
Mid volume sound is close to perfect when listening to Rock
Cons:
Mid’s get distorted at higher volume
Range is decent but not what I expected from Focal
Mid/Low Bass is weak and distorted when listening to rap
All in all, I would purchase these if you’re looking for good sound that won’t rattle your neighbors windows!
